Safety Standards Technical Workshop
Hosted by Richard Davies and Daniel Cowdell from Factory Controls the safety standards seminar was attended by industrial electricians, engineers and maintenance managers from all sectors of Geelong industry. The morning was kicked off with hearty breakfast including the best bacon and egg rolls.
Once we got down to business the main topic for the workshop was safety standards which was presented by Maurits Funke-Kupper of FSE Global. Maurits has more than 25 years of Industrial Automation and Machine/Process Safety expertise and is an independent machine safety expert. Maurits spoke at length about the new Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulations. The topic was well received by everyone in attendance with questions being asked about a range of safety issues, applications, and interpretations of the act and regulations.
The workshop finished with a presentation from John Merritt, Safety Manager at Omron Electronics. John gave some humorous examples of sub-standard safety before giving a rundown of the range of safety products available from Factory Controls. The event finished with an opportunity to look at the products on display and have a chat to Richard, Daniel, Maurits and John. Attendees found the workshop to be extremely informative. Omron releases new Trajexia Motion Controller

Omron releases new G5 Servo System
